Chef Jack’s Makes Battered Shrimp | Camp Chef

Do you love a good seafood dish? Our expert chef, Chef Jack Carslie, talks battered shrimp. See for yourself just how easy it is to make this shrimp delicacy on your trusty Sidekick.

Start by preheating your Sidekick accessory to high heat. In a cast iron skillet, take peanut oil to 375 degrees. Prepare the shrimp by de-shelling (if needed.) Chef Jack suggests butterflying the back in order for them to lay open. In a medium sized mixing bowl add about a 1/2 cup of flour, tablespoon of salt and pepper, and another tablespoon of Camp Chef’s All Purpose Seasoning. Whisk together or hand-toss in an upwards motion with your bowl. Add the shrimp into your flour mixture and hand-toss until you see an even coating. This can also be done with a part of tongs. Careful add the battered shrimp to the heated peanut oil. Feel free to tend to your cooking shrimp with a pair of tongs. When they begin to get crispy, remove from the oil, and let them dry and cool. Enjoy!
